Weekly Notices 17 Fenruary 2019

NOTICES FOR 17 February 2019

FAMILY COMMITTEE will be meeting on Tuesday 19 February at 7.30pm. May we ask you all to bring along or email a short report.

ROOM BOOKINGS  Please remember that rooms need to be booked for meetings, preferably by emailing contactbrookside@gmail.com.  It is only by chance conversations recently that I found out about two meetings due to take place, but not booked. If there is no booking, there could well be no heating for meetings.  Fortunately there was space for these two meetings, but quite often the building is “full” on some evenings.
Thank you. Valerie Ostler, Booking Secretary.

SUE RYDER  Rachel Elliott would like to thank everyone who sponsored her for the Sue Ryder knit-in last year, she raised £140. The overall amount raised was £1500. If you would like to sponsor her this year please see Anne Yeoman after the service.

WORD ALIVE  Everyone welcome to join us, on (generally) the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 7.30pm in the lounge. Our next meeting is on Wednesday 20th February when we continue our look at Joseph. Prior to each meeting at about 6.50pm there is an intercessory prayer meeting for 25 minutes to which all are welcome. Word Alive follows at 7.30pm with a cup of tea when we begin our Bible study.

SAFEGUARDING  There will be a Safeguarding Foundation training course held at Brookside on Saturday 16th March 2019 10.30am -12.00 midday this is for all position holders who are new to their post and have not attended a foundation course before.  There will also be a Safeguarding refresher training course held at Crowland Methodist Church on Thursday 28th March 2019 7.00pm-8.15pm.  This is for position holders where it has been over 5 years since they last attended either the foundation course or a refresher.
